Happy birthday, Ang Kong

We celebrated my father-in-law's 70th birthday last Wednesday night at Circles in Shangri-la Makati.

It was a fun night filled with all his grandchildren, and we will be adding one more before the year ends, so that makes seven! :D

Thank you :D

I got this fabulous floral arrangement from Marie France/Facial Care Centre last week.  A bit delayed, but still very well appreciated :D

Thank you so much for the birthday flowers, NJ Torres and MF/FCC group :)

Christmas Celebrations Part 1

Here's how our December 24 went:
IMG_3272

Spent lunch at the Japanese resto in Shangri-la EDSA hotel—it was my youngest brother's birthday :)
IMG_3262

My other brother, Jones, just found out that day that Little J is going to have a cousin soon :D
IMG_3264

Then, we went to my parents' house and left Little J there so he can get his afternoon sleep
IMG_3266

while we all went to Cold Layers at NorthEast Square to have dessert
IMG_3271

We were supposed to have dinner at my parents' place, but they decided at the last minute to have it at Gloria Maris.  Little J loved the man-to (chinese bread)
IMG_3273

IMG_3276

We ended the night by singing the birthday song to my youngest brother, with our all-time favorite cake from Hizon's :D
IMG_3281

Of course, Little J enjoyed blowing out the candle ;)

Happy birthday, Be-Ku :D

Hubby's birthday

We celebrated hubby's birthday with his family last night at Makati Shangri-la's Circles, and guess who we shared the function room with: Bea Alonzo with Zanjoe Marudo and his family.  Here they are with our yaya and little J :D
IMG_0772

I've worked with Bea a few times as her stylist, and Zanjoe? I've been on a cruise with him and a few others for a press junket.  He was just starting out as a model back then.  Hopefully, we'll get to work together in the future ;)

Here's our own family pic.  People say that hubby looks a bit like Zanjoe haha... I should have made him wear a newsboy cap, too! ;)

Happy happy birthday, bubu! :D

Happy birthday, Papa Miao :D

It was my dad's birthday yesterday.  As usual, we all wore red and had lunch at the most-talked about Bulgogi Brothers at Greenbelt 5:

I like the modern-mix-Korean culture interiors:
IMG_0283

Korean wine, in all kinds, are available... to those who love to drink:

We were served corn tea and appetizers (steamed kamote, corn on the cob and hard boiled quail eggs) while we waited for our orders:

Here's Little J enjoying his corn :D

First up - rib-eye
IMG_0274

I like the fact that one of their staff members does the cooking for us; and using an electric stove too :)
IMG_0275

Then, we had their Bulgogi Brothers special, 1,495, which had ground beef shaped into hearts hehe...
IMG_0277
The ground beef was cooked first, and the rest of sauteed together.
I love the latter one, mixed with sliced basil leaves. So fragrant :)

Most of us had their refillable iced tea (syrup), and I asked for a plastic cup for Little J so he can have a little.  They gave me this instead, how cute!
IMG_0279

They also gave him a plastic plate and kiddie spoon and fork—now, that's what I call service.
Upon payment, our server even left a handwritten thank you note.  Now, how could you not leave tip? :)
IMG_0284

We had Hizon's cake after —we took it home and had it at my parents' place.
Too bad, I wasn't able to take a photo of it.
We devoured it as soon as we finished singing Happy Birthday hehe...

Happy happy birthday to the best dad in the whole wide world :D

Atsi Yuki's Birthday

We celebrated cousin Yuki's birthday last Sunday at Choi Garden.  Of course, the highlight of the party is always the candle blowing:
IMG_0068

After atsi Yuki, every kid wanted to blow the candles as well.  Here's Little J's successful attempt on blowing them out.  Oh, and we all sang Happy Birthday for each kid hehe...

Just had to shared this photo of him holding his loot bag ;)

He is the cutest and most adorable baby boy :D

JJ is now 2

Last Saturday was Little J's 2nd birthday, and I spent the morning buying these at Divisoria—hubby had to go to work, so I tagged along :)
IMG_8439

Balloons with "Happy Birthday" printed on it costs P40 for 10 pieces, so cheap! I forgot how much the sticks costs, but the party hats are P2 each or P20 for a dozen.

Our original plan was to spend the afternoon (until night) at Manila Ocean Park with his cousins, but since it rained, we didn't want anyone to get stuck in traffic. Plus, it was raining so we won't be able to enjoy the fountain show :(  So, we went to Plan B, which was to spend the afternoon at Timezone in Greenhills Promenade:

And had dinner at Banana Leaf Cafe in the same area, capping it off with Hizon's birthday cake—Yummy! Oh, I got the HAPPY BIRTHDAY candles for P27 a set ;)
IMG_8521

The kids swarmed towards the cake, all wanting to help Little J blow and eat the cake, too!
IMG_8526

Here's Little J enjoying the icing ;)

Special thanks to Ninong Francis and Ninang Keri Zamora for taking care of us at Banana Leaf Cafe—they part owners for this branch ;)

And the highlight of the night (other than Little J's birthday) was a photo op with Robin Padilla and Mariel Rodriguez haha... All the nannies wanted a photo with them, and since Mariel and I are friends, I was able to ask for one for them ;)

The night didn't really end as planned, as Little J ran straight towards the glass window of the restaurant and hit his head. He's been sick since Saturday night :( And I haven't been able to get a good sleep, because I've been checking if the pillows are propped up well for him to breather better—he has the colds, too :(

Happy 2nd birthday again, Little J :D
Mama and Dada loves you very much :) Get well soon!

JJ Turns 2

Little J is turning 2 years old tomorrow.  How time flies!  Can't believe it's been one year since we threw him his first birthday party at Mann Hann in San Juan:

I designed the tarp banner myself :D

The kids had a blast with Jiggles the Balloon Lady
My uncle, did a fantastic job on the balloon decor, too!

Here's group pic with my side of the family:

Here's another one with my hubby's:

And here we are, attempting to blow the candles from Little J's birthday cake

Happy birthday, our little man :D

A Happy Day For Me :D

Just got home from our company 2010 year end party, and I'm beat.  But before I go to sleep, the whole store peeps sang "Happy Birthday" to me and my boss bought a cake for me ;)

Will post photos when I get them.
Thanks, team :D

Another Sneak Peek

It was little J's first birthday party yesterday :) Now, you know why I am so harrassed :o Organizing two events can make anyone go crazy.  We all enjoyed the party though, was great to have a break from work.  Here's a photo I'd like to share with you. Will post more soon :D

Birthday Balloons

Got to talk to my Uncle Allen earlier today regarding balloons for little J's party.  He's cousins with my dad, and has been in the balloon business for over 20 years!  He provided the balloons for my youngest brother's party more than 20 years ago hehe...

We brought little J with us last Saturday to his second branch in E.Rodriguez near New Manila area to check out what we else we needed:

So many balloons in one little store. Their main branch is in Sto. Cristo, Manila.

They even have balloons with artwork. We're still thinking about this. It costs P700 flat to have one made.

Oh, looky! Disney Cars—our theme :D

This big one is nice, too! But the venue we picked won't allow us to hang balloons or any decor.

I was having a hard time thinking of ways to decorate the place. Good thing Uncle Allen texted and we were able to talk over the phone. He has some cool ideas, and has assigned his graphic artist to do a layout for me. Can't wait!
