Mommy Meet-Up

Last Saturday, I met up with bloggers Frances Amper-Sales of OK! magazine (and blogger of Topaz Horizon, Topaz Mommy and A Beauty for a Living - whew! how does she do it, noh?) and Karen Go-Wu of aloopylife.

Too bad Vito (Frances' baby) was sleeping that time, so only Karen's baby Harvey and Little J got to hang with us.  Oh well, until the next time, baby boys :D

Kris Kringle Time

Last Friday was our first Kris Kringle at the head office :)

Task 1 is to find a gift that's FLUFFY :D

Think Happy Thoughts

My friend posted this in her Facebook wall, and I think it's a great way to spread good vibes :D
1. At least five people in this world love you so much they would die for you.
2. At least fifteen people in this world love you in some way.
3. The only reason anyone would ever hate you is because they want to be just like you.
4. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don't like you.
5. Every night, someone thinks about you before they go to sleep.
6. You mean the world to someone.
7. If not for you, someone may not be living.
8. You are special and unique.
9. Someone that you don't even know exists loves you.
10. When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good comes from it.
11. When you think the world has turned its back on you, take a look: you most likely turned your back on the world.
12. When you think you have no chance of getting what you want, you probably won't get it, but if you believe in yourself, probably, sooner or later, you will get it.
13. Always remember the compliments you received. Forget the rude remarks.
14. Always tell someone how you feel about them; you will feel much better when they know.
15. If you have a great friend, take the time to let them know that they are great.

By reading this, I hope you'll be able to start December and 2012 with a smile :D

Thank you, Steve Jobs

I'm sure everyone knows by now that Steve Jobs passed away last Wednesday. This post is dedicated to him, to thank him for making technology fun and in style.  Our little one started very young, barely a year old when he got his iPad :D

This shot was taken in the plane, on our way to Hong Kong last August.  He never leaves without his iPad :D He has learned quite a lot using the educational apps :)  We even use it to play his sleeping lullabies at night when we're out of town.

We use the iPod to play his music to put him to sleep.  Every morning, the first thing he does when he wakes up is to turn off the iPod and the speakers, on his own!  Such a techie boy :D

Childhood Buddies

Sherry was in town to fix her working visa,
so we grabbed the chance to have dinner with her the other night :)

We had dinner at 1521 at Burgos Circle, and had Serenitea for dessert.
I miss my high school barkada. Until the next one ;)

Happy Father's Day

I fell in love with this commercial while I was in UK.  This is one of the reasons why I started this blog, so that my son (and future kids) can read through this and know how our life was like with them :D

While surfing for the video above in youtube.com, I found this Asian version:

Hope you like these TVCs as much as I do.  They never fail to make me cry ;)
Happy Father's Day :D

Oh, and to our little J (and our future kids), we can't wait to browse through this blog again with you real soon, but not too soon, we hope.  You're growing up so fast.

Friends in UK

Apologies for the one week hiatus.  Our last stop, which was in London, was fully packed.  I'm back now, and recuperating from the flu... sigh!

Anyways, this post is to thank all my "UK" friends for taking care of me and my family.  You made our trip extra special :D

NIKKI GO, my childhood friend ;) Thank you for squeezing us into your house, and for driving us around New Castle and York.
IMG_5494

JOHN GONZALES, my new found friend :D Thank you to you and Alex for letting us stay at your beautiful home, and for driving us to Bicester Village. We had so much fun!
IMG_7331

DOHN YU, my schoolmate from nursery to college (haha... it's been that long!).  We love the restaurants you recommended.  Keep me posted with you-know-what, you hottie ;)
IMG_7765

PAUL TIU, my childhood seat mate (fellow bus rider).  Thank you for touring us around London, and bringing us to my mom's requests :D
IMG_8059

MARJ AKIL, my colleague back in Chalk magazine.  It's been 8 long years since we've seen each other!  It was so great to catch up with you.
IMG_8088

We all had a lovely time, thanks to all of you.
Hope to visit UK and hang out with all of you again soon :D

Arrival at Stockton

Day 2 of UK Trip: First up was breakfast at the apartel

IMG_5398

This is their Full English Breakfast, served on a plate
IMG_5388

We love their chocolate chip cookies and hot chocolate, and brought some of the cookies with us for our trip to Darlington.
IMG_5387

I ended my breakfast with banana topped with nutella ;P
IMG_5390

IMG_5391

Isn't this place so homey? Thank you to a friend whom I'll be meeting this weekend for the reco ;)
IMG_5395

The corridor is just a bit narrow for big guys like my brother, but it will do.
This is us, on our way back to get our luggages to check out.
IMG_5397

Took a cab to  King's Cross Station where we took the train to get to Darlington
IMG_5399

At King's Cross Station—this is where "Harry Potter" and his friends took the train at Platform 9 3/4 ;)
IMG_5400

Felt like I was more at the airport than at the train station
IMG_5404

Back at the Customer Lounge—we had 2.5 hours of waiting time
IMG_5413

Finally!
IMG_5414

The amazing view
IMG_5419

We tried their Fanta Orange; it tasted more like real orange juice with the fizz :)

Touchdown at Darlington

While waiting for my friend, Nikki, to get her car
IMG_5436

I played around with my camera to take shots of the 3 of us
IMG_5437

Nikki and her "spare" car.  The car shop had to fix her "real" car:

Got to the pub for dinner

IMG_5444

And of course, I just had to have their Fish & Chips ;P
IMG_5446

IMG_5447

My brother had their Gamut Steak, which was sort of like Christmas Ham back at our place in Manila.
IMG_5448

While my mom had their apple-glazed pork with egg
IMG_5449

So much dips and sauces!

Before heading to Nikki's place...
IMG_5454

... we dropped by the hospital where she works
