Pardon the absence as I was too beat from our HK trip over the weekend. Just wanted to share with Day 1 of our trip :)
Little J all set in his Muji outfit and crocs all-terrain shoes
This isn't his first time to ride a plane, but he is getting curiouser and can be quite a handful to take care of. It is also our second time to fly with out a yaya...
Here is our make shift cot for him
touchdown!
On board the airport express to Central/IFC mall
We rode the taxi to the hotel in Wan Chai
Checking in at Novotel Century :)
It's quite a modern hotel, and packed with Caucasians and Chinese Mainlanders.
Rode the MTR to Causeway Bay, which is the next stop, and had a late lunch at Ting Tai Fung :)
We love their Xiao Long Pao. Little J loves the soup inside it :P
I had their dry noodles with sesame paste—Yummy!
We spent the afternoon shopping:
... and had dinner right across our hotel. We asked the hotel staff and they recommended this place—they serve New Territory style food... whatever that means...
Almost everything is priced at HKD65:
Their Asado Pork is delicious, but their standard HKD65 was sold out already. We ordered a bit more expensive version which costs about HKD78. Really good, but oily!
Their Steamed Pumpkin with minced garlic and shallots is pretty good, too!
It's sort of like your regular Lapu-Lapu dish that's served in Chinese restaurants. Only difference is that the fish is replaced with pumpkin for this one.
Claypot-cooked rice is also an option, which we tried.
Very fragrant and soft at about HKD 12.
Hubby wanted more, so he ordered their Tendon dish with taosi (beans) and spring onions.
Little J didn't eat much, but spend most of the time playing with my bowl of rice.
We got back pretty full and tired from walking around.
We must say, commuting is quite a challenge when you have a toddler (and a stroller).
So better be prepared for "longer" walks ;)
But nothing beats having quality time with your family, so we don't mind it at all :D
