Full day in HK

Hong Kong Disneyland, here we come.  Here's our family shot in the elevator :)

Hubby had to work a bit, and he used Chikka.com to send SMS via the iPad. Pretty cool!

Our Disney tickets ready :D

We took the MTR all the way to Disneyland

And we're here!

HK Disneyland is celebrating their 5th year. How time flies :)
IMG_9492

Their latest attraction is Lightning McQueen at the Winners Circle show.  Little J was all set to watch it, under the shade of his stroller :)

Part of the new attraction are four Cars sites where you can have your photo taken ala postcard style.

It was pretty hot, so we decided to go ride/watch in airconditioned attractions:

It's a Small World is always fun for both the young and old:

Here's another Cars site:

We went straight to the Golden Mickeys.

It's their version of the Oscars or Academy Awards, which was a visual feast for Little J.

It wasn't Little J's first time and HK Disneyland was packed (since it's their summer vacation), so we decided to just picked the attractions that he wasn't able to check out earlier this year.  It's always a great joy to see Little J so happy.  He kept clapping and shouting "yay" all throughout our HK Disneyland stay.

HK Trip Over the Weekend

Pardon the absence as I was too beat from our HK trip over the weekend.  Just wanted to share with Day 1 of our trip :)

Little J all set in his Muji outfit and crocs all-terrain shoes
IMG_9401

This isn't his first time to ride a plane, but he is getting curiouser and can be quite a handful to take care of.  It is also our second time to fly with out a yaya...
IMG_9425

Here is our make shift cot for him

touchdown!

On board the airport express to Central/IFC mall
IMG_9438

We rode the taxi to the hotel in Wan Chai
IMG_9441

Checking in at Novotel Century :)
IMG_9442

It's quite a modern hotel, and packed with Caucasians and Chinese Mainlanders.
IMG_9443

Rode the MTR to Causeway Bay, which is the next stop, and had a late lunch at Ting Tai Fung :)

IMG_9447

We love their Xiao Long Pao.  Little J loves the soup inside it :P
IMG_9448

I had their dry noodles with sesame paste—Yummy!
IMG_9449

We spent the afternoon shopping:

... and had dinner right across our hotel.  We asked the hotel staff and they recommended this place—they serve New Territory style food... whatever that means...

IMG_9460

Almost everything is priced at HKD65:
IMG_9462

Their Asado Pork is delicious, but their standard HKD65 was sold out already.  We ordered a bit more expensive version which costs about HKD78.  Really good, but oily!
IMG_9463

Their Steamed Pumpkin with minced garlic and shallots is pretty good, too!
It's sort of like your regular Lapu-Lapu dish that's served in Chinese restaurants.  Only difference is that the fish is replaced with pumpkin for this one.
IMG_9464

Claypot-cooked rice is also an option, which we tried.
Very fragrant and soft at about HKD 12.
IMG_9465

Hubby wanted more, so he ordered their Tendon dish with taosi (beans) and spring onions.
IMG_9466

Little J didn't eat much, but spend most of the time playing with my bowl of rice.
IMG_9467

We got back pretty full and tired from walking around.
IMG_9469

We must say, commuting is quite a challenge when you have a toddler (and a stroller).
So better be prepared for "longer" walks ;)
But nothing beats having quality time with your family, so we don't mind it at all :D

First Real Shopping Trip

I can't believe I went to HK to shop—overnight and over the weekend!
I made this decision because:
1. my mom was there with my auntie (her sister)
2. my dad asked my mom to work on some paperworks there, so I followed just to make sure everything is okay
3. my friends were there too

So, here I am in the airport shuttle bus on my way to Causeway Bay to stay at my mom's hotel. HKD 65 round trip :)
IMG_9259

Glad that the bus offered free wi-fi service :D
IMG_9263

Had a "date" with Thons and John (whom I met in UK and stayed a night with him and his hubby):
IMG_9268

and Preston
IMG_9269

We went on a bargain hunt ;)
IMG_9272

With me shopping quite a bit at the Prada/Miu Miu outlet :o
IMG_9284

So happy with my finds, though I've overspent for the year with my UK trip :o
Hubby says I deserve it with all the work I've been doing.
Thanks for understanding hihi... Love you, babe!
