An opportunity like this comes once in a "while" for me as my mom treated me to a first class plane ride to Bangkok :D I love the wide seats and very roomy leg room :D
The creamy mango shake is something I always look forward to
With meals served by the country's top chefs
The shrimp and pomelo salad was delicious!
The main entree was soft and tender veal. I rationed the freshly cut leeks with every bite—love it!
We checked in at Marriot Courtyard hotel in Siam, which was pretty near the Erawan shrine that my mom and I frequently visit
The colored sand on the vases is a great idea
Here's our room
It's a 5-minute-walk to get to the main road. So, if you're feeling a bit lazy, you can always ask for their shuttle service:
Which we did, and even took their BTS (Bangkok Train Station - I think)
Buying tickets is so easy and cheap
It's really clean too!
What I like about Bangkok is that they are so artistic.
They have artworks on the street every now and then.
Cheap food thrills everywhere
After some errands, we headed to our favorite mall, Paragon
and shopped, and had merienda at...
So much healthy veggies on the table :D
We love their noodle soup, and the "seasonings" on the side
Their shrimp roll was really good, too!
The one on the background was ground meat wrapped in pandan leaves.
Not as delicious so I wouldn't recommend it.
Here's a close-up shot:
The best dish? Dessert - Melon balls with sago in coconut milk for only B50 which is close to P75!
We continued shopping and found these adorable room diffusers.
Instead of bamboo sticks, floral shaped fabrics are used to "diffuse" the scents, and the color changes based on the scent you choose.
We finished buying house stuff and went to their Tax Rebate center to fill out forms. You get about 7% back at the airport :) Just remember to fill the forms on the same day of your purchase. Paragon offers 5% off for tourists, as long as you have the tourist card. Just ask any of the sales team for one.
Since we ate earlier, we decided to have soup for dinner back at the hotel instead.
So, here we are with our bowl of Broccoli soup :D
