Checked In For The Weekend

The whole fam (my side, that is) is checked in here at Shangri-la EDSA hotel this whole weekend for my bro's wedding.  Just wanted to share the good news that this hotel now offers free wi-fi service.

How cool is that? :)  And it's fast!  So happy :D
Gotta get some sleep now, have to be up by 6a.m.  Good night and have a great weekend!

On a side note, we got to enjoy the fireworks in celebration of EDSA Power by our window ;)

Movie Date

Hubby is the ultimate homebody, while I love going out... even if it's just a simple dinner with him or with our friends.  So, I was quite touched that he said yes to a movie date last night.  We watched the Black Swan premiere, hosted by the Velvet Channel.  Here's a photo of us before we went it to watch this "stressful" movie ;)

What I'm wearing: Pink top from HK, brown jeggings from Forever 21, pink suede pumps from HK, pearl necklace courtesy of Neutrogena, and Miu Miu back pack ;)

Hubby said he'll accompany since I've been wanting to watch this.  He said he'll just fall asleep if he's bored, but we were both surprised that he stayed awake all throughout.  So, ladies, don't worry about your "date" not enjoying the movie... I think they won't be ;)

Thanks, dear hubby, for the movie date :D

Mechanical Toys

Little J spent quite some time in Toys R Us in Ocean Terminal.  The first thing that "stopped him on his tracks" were these fluffy animals that could walk:

I convinced hubby not to buy them, as I know I could find them at affordable prices back in Manila.  We should be buying stuff you can't find in the Philippines, right?  So, the first thing I did when I got back was go to Divisoria (on a weekend) to find Little J's toys.   Hubby works in Chinatown area, that's why I get to tag along :D  These were what I ended up with: walking (with sounds) mechanical toys (tiger, camel, and hippo); plastic animals so he can familiarize himself with them; and bubble blowers; lifesaver and a squirter for swimming this weekend—all for P1,120.  Not bad, indeed!

Sigh! And I did this all with a flu that I'm still fighting :o The things we do for our little one/s ;)

Back from Vacay

Apologies for the lack of posts the past week.  My family and I just got back from our HK + Disneyland trip with my in-laws, and all 5 kiddos in tow.   Little J had a great time at Disney—hubby and I were able to take a lot of photos and videos to document his very first Disneyland trip :D
hk disney
This trip was actually more tiring than the one we had in Japan, considering we brought our yaya/nanny with us :o Don't know if it's because we have a lot of toddlers this time around, or little J was being a drama boy since he knows his yaya/nanny is around ;) Sigh!
Will share photos on Monday.  In the meantime, let me get my rest and focus on work today :D
See you all next week!
P.S. What do you think of the blog's new look? ;)

Lucky Charms and a Happy Video

Little J received a necklace (to keep him healthy for the year of the Metal Rabbit) from Auntie Joy Lim of Charms and Crystals recently, and he loves wearing it.  Thanks, Atsi Joy!

Here's another shot of him wearing it, while playing with the phone: he's not really talking to anyone in the other end ;)

I was able to record a video of him "talking" :D Hope it makes your day as it never fails to make me smile :D

Happy to See 'Mo'

Attended the press preview of the most awaited Fashion Watch 2011 last week, and finally got to catch up with one of my very good friends, Maureen Disini:

She has been in the publishing industry for quite some time, and she recently took a fashion and design course in Europe.  I can't wait to have a dress made by her ;)  She also drew a sketch for me a few months back, which reminds me that I have to look for it somewhere in my FB page hehe... Have a great week ahead!

Gong Xi Fa Cai :D

Went temple hopping for Chinese New Year's Eve with my family, and decided to have dinner last night to celebrate the Year of the Metal Rabbit.  Hubby is still sick, and my brothers were both busy, so I only had dinner with my parents and little J at Lugang in Greenhills.

IMG_1704

Their Xiao Long Pao is the best I've had here locally :P Dad and I had two orders.  Even little J joined in on the munch :)
IMG_1708

We also had dry noodles mixed with pork and cucumber. Not bad!  This gives me another idea for what to serve for dinner :)
IMG_1710

Mom was vegetarian last night (The reason behind that should be reserved for another post), so she settled for Fried Tofu and Pechay with Pumpkin soup and chestnut—Another great idea for what to serve for dinner at home ;)  For dessert, we had their milk custard with mango. It was just right, not too sweet and overpowering.

The FINALE? Little J's ang pao (means "red envelope" in Chinese that is used by elders to give to the young and single—it has money inside :D)  This one below is made out of purple paper though... modern designs for modern times ;)  For those who are curious, the purple foiled character is the surname of my dad which is pronounced "Gong" in Mandarin.

Cheers to more blessings for the year of the Metal Rabbit ;)

Is this a Healthy Dinner?

Just had to share what I had for dinner earlier :)
Cut Lettuce, home-made vinagrette, and Baconette Strips with pepper and Parmesan Cheese!
Yummy! You should try it :D
